As you may have already heard, Alan B. Shepard High School will enter into an exciting time in our school history. The Board of Education recently approved the science wing expansion/ office/ parking project to begin March 25th. This multi-million dollar project will enhance our learning environment, provide a more functional workspace and alleviate many of the parking issues.

For the safety of all students during phase 1 of construction, the main entrance and visitor parking will be changed to the North drive at Door 20 (across from the softball field) starting March 25th. If you come to the school during the day from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., please go to Door 20. Due to parked buses at the end of each school day, the North drive will be shut down from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning April 2nd. From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. you can access the building or pick up your child at Door 12 (Gym, Activity Entrance) by entering at the stoplight entrance on Ridgeland. As for spring events after school, you can still access Door 12 from the east lot. Signs will be posted on Ridgeland to provide direction for people to access the school building during construction. We apologize for the any inconveniences this may cause you during the months of April and May.

    
As a school community, we have spent considerable time developing and refining the plans to provide a safe environment, limit the noise and afford ample building access during construction. We want to make sure that you are well informed of this tremendous project and the great impact it will have on our present and future school environment.
